We want to start off by saying thank you to you all for joining the Wild Embrace Community. We are so excited to build a hub that meets the needs of our intersecting communities, while nurturing connections with nature, each other, and ourselves. We won't be able to do it without folks like you, so thank you for coming along for the journey.

So, what's next? As with most budding non-profits, we have a few projects on the go right now.

Firstly, we have launched our fundraising platform and have started our capital campaign to purchase an acreage on South Vancouver Island to establish our farm-based community hub. If you are financially able to donate, please consider chipping in to help us reach our fundraising goal of $300,000 to go towards our down payment. If you are unable to donate but you love the mission, please share with friends, connect them with our website, and tell them why you think Wild Embrace is rad!

Meanwhile our grant writer Kat is working through applications to make up the last $200,000 of our goal.
Our next big project is to organize a general meeting of the membership, if you’d like to become a member click here.

Members will be invited to weigh in on some other big decisions like changes to the constitution and bylaws of the society, or building new policy. They can also run for the Board of Directors to have an even bigger effect on the community. The meeting will be held in Summer 2022, and will be accessible via virtual meeting platform (subtitles and a recorded version of the meeting will be available for those who are hearing impaired, require taking breaks or are otherwise unable to sit through a virtual event.)

Finally, some fun stuff! Our board has some fundraising projects in the works that will be announced later this spring, including some sample programming, some food workshops, and a few fundraising projects that you wonderful people will get to help us build!

So stay tuned for more exciting things! Please follow us on social media (we'll have the links below,) share this project with your friends and family, donate if you can, encourage folks to get involved in whatever ways feel good and sustainable for them, and keep being kind community members.
May your week be full of many buzz bees and new growth 🌱
