Call for Submissions - Colouring Book

Have your own page in a colouring book

Calling neurodivergent individuals of all ages!
Want to have your own page in a colouring book? We're looking for submissions of stories or moments that celebrate the diversity of the human experience.

We at Wild Embrace Farm are fundraising to get our project up and running. Once we reach our fundraising goals we'll be a community center located on a hobby farm, with a focus on supporting equity-seeking groups, including neurodivergent youth.

What we're looking for from you:
A short story around 100-300 words of an experience where you felt affirmed or at home in your neurodivergence.

An artist will make an illustration based on the story to be published alongside it in our colouring book.
These will be made available by donation, either by downloading online for printing or a physical copy. We will also be reaching out to local book shops, schools, and neurodivergent care programmers, and advertising online to sell physical copies.

All proceeds will go to supporting Wild Embrace in its search for securing a property to run programs.

What to include in your story:

  • If you have any physical characteristics you would like us to include (race, gender expression, style). Not required but appreciated if you would like to share.

  • Pronouns and fake name you would like us to use. If none are included we will default to they/them and select a gender-neutral name.

What not to include in your story:

  • Personal details you wouldn't want available to the public (for example the name of your city, school, teachers, parents, or friends.)

Before going to print we will show you a draft of the page and story to make sure it reflects your experience.

Winners will receive a free copy of the book mailed to them, and credit by name if they so choose.

Deadline Extended to October
