AGM updates 2023

Thank you to everyone who attended our AGM for 2023! Here are the updates for those who weren’t able to attend:

Elected Karleena Parmar as Secretary - see their bio on our Board page here.

Passed a motion to adjust quorum:

Due to the difficulty scheduling member availability for meetings, the Board is seeking to reduce the number of members required to transact business at a general meeting. The current bylaw statement of ⅔ is NOT a requirement of the BC Societies Act, and creates an unnecessary challenge to operating the society.

Move that the members of the society vote to adjust the current bylaw text regarding quorum for the transaction of business at a general meeting from the  “⅔ of registered members” to “5 registered members”.

Reflective questions exercise:

  • Do you think humans are part of nature?

  • Bring to mind a memory of yourself in nature; how does this feel in your body?

  • How much quality time do you get to spend in nature?

  • What systemic barriers prevent you from spending more time outside/in nature?

  • How can we support you to spend more or higher quality time in nature?
