Scavenger hunt at Maplewood Flats for Neurodivergent Families

Wild Embrace Farm Society invites you to explore!

Join us at Maplewood flats for a nature walk and scavenger hunt for the whole family. We will provide some fun nature “bingo” cards, info-sheets and a map, and you’ll get to explore an amazing ecosystem teeming with life.

Prizes, including our “Celebrating Neurodiversity”colouring book will be given out at the end of the event! Wild Embrace volunteers will have name tags and will be present to assist you with finding all the plants and animals on the card!

Please note, the walk is a 2.5km loop that takes an average of 1hr 15 minutes to complete. Wheel-chair/Mobility-aid accessible washrooms are available near the parking lot and walking paths are hard-packed ground and mobility-aid friendly, although there are a few areas with some loose gravel to watch out for. They can be avoided easily and will not limit folks from completing the loop!

Parents/guardians are required to attend the event and all children must be supervised at all times.

Sign-up is encouraged but drop-in attendance is welcome.

Remember to bring sunscreen, hats, your reusable water bottle, snacks, closed toed shoes and any other outdoor gear you may need. Our team will have extra scent-free sunscreen, a first aid kit and water.

Financial assistance is available for up to 2 families who may need support with public transit or taxi vouchers to attend. Please reach out to us at hello@wildembracefarm.org if you’d like to know more about how we can help you access this event.

Liability waivers will be emailed out the week prior to the event.
